THE ROAD TO HEAVEN

ABOUT THE ROAD TO HEAVEN

Meter-high grotesque priest dolls in self-aggrandising rituals, glass vitrines filled with baby faces and dry soil, a large amphibian and a half-naken woman writhing in agony. In Artaud’s ideology of theatre, the “cruelty” acted out on stage is match to the enormous anxiety that humans, according to Artaud, carry inside themselves.

The performance was played on The Norwegian Theater Stage 2.
