June 23-27, 2025.
Body and Voice Workshop
Plastic and vocal exercises for stage precision in space.
- The unpredictable actor
- Breathing and relaxation.
- A rhythm understood
- The group and the individual
- Text and body as signs.
This workshop aims to provide a basis for stage presence through the actor’s body and voice. The work will focus on physical techniques from Jerzy Grotowski as well as voice exercises based on Zygmunt Molik’s model (the Grotowski ensemble), as well as methods developed from Antonin Artaud’s theatre theories.
In addition to practical exercises and improvisations, a brief orientation will be given on the physical side of the actor’s work with reference to various traditions.
Participants must wear loose training clothes. Have a text and/or a song memorized as working material.
