“Last Song” goes to Tokyo!

  |   News, News

Grusomhetens Teater is invited for the 6th time  to perform 4 performances of “Last Song” at Theater X Cai in Tokyo, Japan on the 19 – 25 of November.

The play is written and directed by Lars Øyno and inspired by Conte de Lautreamont, the French author Isidore Ducasse, one of the 18th century’s greatest poets. “Last Song” had it’s premiere in 2009 in Oslo at Grusomhetens Teater with the actors Odille Heftye Blehr, Lars Brunborg and the musician Rita Lindanger.

The play is based upon the life and work of Comte de Lautreamont who passed away in 1870 and was forgotten until the Surrealists found his work 50 years later. The play is about death and the last hours of the author in his apartment in Paris. It deals with the cruelty of the human being and the very existence. Dream, reality, animals and human beings are merged in an attempt to understand what the human being really is. The author himself is performed by Odille Heftye Blehr. We follow the internal struggle of the man, and his cold and merciless view of the basic conditions of life.
