Grusomhetens Teater will perform two shows at the Iranshahr Complex Hall on the 21st and 22nd of February, 2019.

“I is Another – Rimbaud in Africa” had it’s premiere at Grusomhetens Teater stage on the 26th of January 2017, and played until the 11th of February 2017. It was also performed at Theater Xcai in Tokyo, Japan in September 2017 and at Bedales Theater in Petersfield, UK in January 2018.

This is the story about the last chapter of the french poet Arthur Rimbaud’s life as a merchant in East Africa. It is about how a great poet left his artistry to become a merchant on another continent.

Rimbaud in Africa questions what role art has in society. What did Rimbaud find in selling coffee and guns that his poetry could not provide? Could an answer to this question have any relevance for our lives today.
